Mission Statement
The Recorder of Deeds is responsible for recording documents in two main areas:  Real Estate and Uniform Commercial Code. Military Service Discharges are also recorded here.
All documents except Military Service Discharges are public record and are readily available in the Office for you to view.

Records in this Office provide data about real estate transactions and historical perspective.  Deeds, mortgages, releases, easements, surveys, land plans, restrictions, and road right-of-ways are examples of such documents.

It is the goal of this Office to provide electronic access to public records and public information. Our index and images are now available.  Click here to view our index & images.  The index for most of our documents from 1975 to present is a free search.  The images for most of our documents from 1975 to present are a pay per access service. An online Archive Viewer for Indexes for 1950 to 1974 for Deeds and Mortgages and the Plan Index from 1791 to 1988 are now available.  The images are of the indexes that you use in the Recorder's office. This is a free index search.

The Recorder of Deeds Office does  provide Downloadable Forms.
